The GAL, attorney for the child, Rebecca Bowman is "concerned" for the abuser's "safety" of all people in this case. The GAL SHOULD be worried about the child he is molesting, physically abusing and threatening to murder, not the child molester himself. The most commonly asked question: Why was Aaliyah taken away from her mother?

Aaliyah was taken from Connie by the STEP program on their first court hearing on the case on July 3, 2008. You can read about STEP on a site created by another Placer County citizen under "articles." They threatened Connie to stop making reports of Aaliyah's disclosures or they would take her from her. Connie does not back down from the truth and was not going to sit in silence while her daughter was making the disclosures. It is also CA law that if you do not report abuse you can be jailed for Failure to Protect. Once again as the court system repetitively has done, they put Connie in a catch 22 position. Connie chose to follow the law and do what is right and stand up for what is true. They constantly punish Aaliyah and her for it. These same ladies took themselves off the case immediately after they finally watched the "Daddy's Worm" video and documented their reasoning for doing so that "Connie was difficult." Upon receiving the video back from STEP, STEP later asked Connie in shock, "And CPS has seen this video?" This is just one example of the blatant ignoring of evidence, harassment of Connie, unlawfully taking Aaliyah from Connie and then a cover up for their mistakes by further blaming Connie. This very same pattern is prevalent throughout the entire case by almost every "professional" involved.
